Tanya’s Pilates journey began with a commitment to regain muscle tone after becoming a mother with back-to-back pregnancies. A dancer since the age of three, Pilates appealed to her interest in proper form and the connection between mind and body.
Her initial interest soon evolved into lifelong practice when she was invited to train as an instructor. Trained in the STOTT method and certified through the YMCA of Central Kentucky, Tanya is committed to helping students become “brilliant with the basics” and ensuring mastery of essential skills and having fun doing it!
In her day job at the University of Minnesota, Tanya trains mental health practitioners and conducts research on mental illness and substance use disorders.
In addition to her work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and caring for her horses (which she occasionally has time to ride).
